A Christ-centered mentorship program for young girls 3rd through 10th grade.
Our mission is to impart valuable life lessons that will impact the lives of all girls.
Our vision is cultivating godly character in young women who aspire to reflect the image of Christ in every area of their lives.
Our core values are:
Our program is designed to boost her self-esteem and empower her with the confidence needed to pursue her dreams and aspirations, providing a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters personal growth and development.
Within the program, a one-on-one mentoring initiative connects young girls with compassionate Christian women to cultivate authentic connections essential to establish relationships with the girls within a small group environment. Through these mentoring bonds, girls have the opportunity to uncover and embrace the love of God, the mentors, and their peers.
There is more than one way to make a positive impact in your community and beyond. If the idea of becoming a mentor may not be feasible for you at the moment, there are still numerous ways to give back. One way is to consider donating your time or skills as a volunteer, as every small effort can make a significant difference in someone's life.
The Junior Pearl Society (JPS) was founded by Dr. Donna Leah Houpe in 2006 as an affiliate of the National Pearl Society (NPS). From its inception, JPS has been a Christian organization grounded in godly principles, emphasizing etiquette, entrepreneurship, college preparation, and character-building skills. Our mission is to impart valuable life lessons that will positively impact the lives of all girls.
The Junior Pearl Society welcomed its first cohort of fifty-three enthusiastic mentees eager to learn the Art of Being a Lady. Under Dr. Houpe's leadership, the society has continued to train and prepare young women for success. She views training as fundamental to a child's development, a belief reflected in JPS's comprehensive developmental programs that focus on leadership, confidence, and strength.
Over the past eighteen years, the Junior Pearl Society has enriched its mentees' educational experiences through various excursions and training seminars. Under the directorship of Dr. Donna Leah Houpe, programs have included college preparatory seminars and campus tours, local cultural events, career awareness activities, guest speaker sessions, and etiquette training. More than 250 girls have participated in these programs since their inception, with every graduate pursuing higher education.
A key component of JPS's success is its dynamic mentorship model. JPS mentors are distinguished women from various professional backgrounds, united by their passion for making a difference in the lives of young ladies. Each mentor commits to at least two years of dedicated mentorship and actively supports the JPS scholarship program.
